Body length 4.5 mm assembled), fore wing length 3.6 mm and antenna length 5.2 mm.

Antenna with 39 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere pointed but not acuminate. Median flagellomeres approximately 2 x longer than wide. Occipital carina distinctly absent mediodorsally, ventrally joining hypostomal carina. Mesopleuron rugulose anteriorly becoming aciculate posteriorly, precoxal sulcus weak, rugulose, speculum absent. Propodeum with complete midlongitudinal carina. Fore wing vein 2-CU1 1.6 x 1-CU1. Apex of fore wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Fore wing vein 3-SR 2 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 1.4 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.5 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.55 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell evenly setose. Hind wing vein m-cu virtually absent, indicated only by a pigmented mark on border of 1-M. Apex of hind tibia with comb of modified apressed setae medially and ventrally. Claws with pecten of closely-spaced pale teeth along whole length of basal lobe that diverge somewhat apically, appearing like golden lamella. Basal lobes of 1 st tergite narrow, anteriorly gently curved, posteriorly steep. Midlongitudinal carina of 3 rd tergite present on anterior 0.8.

Etymology. Named after the assassin character Robert Selachii in the Terry Pratchett Discworld novels.
