Comments. These specimens correspond to Aphelotingis muiri , but don’t have median cephalic spine. In addition, the habitus drawn by Péricart in 1990 from specimens from Sri-Lanka has no median cephalic spine. Aphelotingis muiri was designed as type species of Aphelotingis by Drake (1948), separating the genus Aphelotingis from Abdastartus on the basis of much longer bucculae and much longer fourth antennal joint of Aphelotingis species. Aphelotingis muiri is the only species of the genus inhabiting the Asian region. The two other species of the genus are endemic to Madagascar.
