Type locality. India: Tamil Nadu: Coromondel Coast, coll. Guerin.

Type depository. MNHN .

Specimen examined (n=1). Syntype labelled “‘Coromandel’, coll. Guerin, det. Chaudoir”.

Description. Length 5.0– 6.5 mm. Head, pronotum, antennae, scutellum and sutural line reddish brown; eyes black; elytra bluish black; legs pale reddish yellow.

Head broad, wider than long, punctate, pubescent, neck rough, wrinkled; eyes protruding; antennae stout, short, not reaching the middle of elytra, first four segments of lighter colour, segment 3 equals the combined length of segments 1 and 2, apical segment elongate oval.

Pronotum longer than broad, rough, wrinkled, pubescent; disc with apical and basal margin sinuate, with apical outwardly sinuate and basal inwardly sinuate, lateral edge of the apical margin not projecting forward; disc laterally with anterior two-thirds convex, posterior third divergent, hind angles blunt, acute, slightly projecting laterally; lateral bead narrow, lateral margin brownish black; median groove deep, deepest at basal and apical region; basal transverse foveae present, shallow.

Elytra long, sub-parallel, glossy, punctated, pubescent; humerus prominent, narrow, rounded; apex without reentrant angle, having membranous border; very weak, broad, rounded striations, narrow intervals.
