I. Brachymeriinae

The genera included have been classified either in the Chalcidinae (Bouček 1988a, 1992) or Brachymeriinae (Steffan 1951a) . Phylogenetic studies (Wijesekara 1997; Heraty et al. 2013; Cruaud et al. 2016) mostly support a sister group relationship between the tribe Phasgonophorini, which includes the genus Trigonura , and the Brachymeriini, whereas the Chalcidini merge on a separate node. Hence, it seems preferable to include Brachymeria and Trigonura , comprising the two tribes quoted above, in the subfamily Brachymeriinae .
