Diagnosis (male). Flagellomere 1 globose, forefemur with two to three ventral rows of thin elongated setae ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ), foremetatarsus with anterior bare excavation and long anteroapical setulose process ( Fig. 8B View FIGURE 8 ).

Material examined. Holotype ♂, COLOMBIA: Nariño: RN La Planada: Parcela Perm., 1.25ºN 78.25ºW, 2– 16.ix.2000 GoogleMaps , Malaise trap, 1885m, G. Oliva col. ( IAVH) [LACM ENT 210370] . Paratypes: ECUADOR: 1♂, Napo: Hacienda Aragon (SierrAzul), 0.67°S, 77.92°W, 20–21.iv.1996 GoogleMaps , yellow pan traps, 2250m, P. Hibbs col. [LACM ENT 061388]. Paratypes: 1♂, same as holotype but 15–16.ii.1996. VENEZUELA: 1♂, Mérida: S of Bolivar : NP La Aguada, 13.v.1981 , 3000m, L. Masner col.

Description. Male. Body length, 1.8 mm. Head. Frons brown, sparsely setulose, with weak median furrow. Flagellomere 1 light brown, globose. Arista subapical, about 2.5 times flagellomere 1 length. Palpus yellowishbrown. Gena with two setae. Thorax. Scutum, scutellum, and pleural regions brown; anepisternum bare. Legs yellowish-brown. Forefemur with two to three ventral rows of thin elongated setae. Foretibia with two to three dorsal setae and anterodorsal row of strong setulae. Foremetatarsus with anterior excavation, long anteroapical setulose process, group of setae at excavation base, and strong seta at base of anteroapical process ( Fig. 8B View FIGURE 8 ). Foremetatarsus ratio 0.32. Hind femur with narrow basoventral band of tiny blunt setulae ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 17 C–D). Hind femur height/length ratio 0.33. Hind tibia with one dorsal seta in basal half; preapical seta shifted basally. Wing ( Fig. 13B View FIGURE 13 ). Costa swollen, 0.44 of the wing length; R 2+3 absent; M 1 concave, not curved posteriorly at apex; M 2 sinuous, CuA 1 -M 2 /M 2 -M 1 ratio 1.7; CuA 1 sinuous. Halter brownish white. Abdomen. Tergites brown, with shining pubescence. Hypopygium light brown ( Figs. 24B View FIGURE 24 ). Left epandrial process with a dorsal medially-directed setulose projection near hypoproct and a large irregular projection near apex. Margin of right lobe of hypandrium with a lateral projection. Hypoproct without setae.

Distribution. Known from mid and high-elevation sites in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

Known from a single mid-elevation site in Colombia.

Etymology. Name derived from the Greek roots anisos (unequal) and krossos (fringe), referring to the ventral row of unequal setae on the forefemur.
