Variations. Depressions of tergal process round or drop-shaped, shallow to deep, with long seta on outer lateral margin, reaching margin of tergite I; tubercle of depression absent or small, pit on top wide and large, tuft with setae very short or long ( Figs 12–18 View FIGURES 9–23 ).

Remarks. Dissomphalus chiangmaiensis is similar to D. zethus sp. nov. because of the following characteristics: hypopygium short with wide median stalk, median region of posterior margin straight with corners rounded and more projected than median region; base of paramere wider than basiparamere apex; aedeagal dorsal body bottle-shaped with median region wider than basal and apical regions, projection of median region of dorsal surface conical. However, D. chiangmaiensis differs from D. zethus sp. nov. as follows: hypopygium with lateral stalk narrow and long, median stalk without apical constriction, lateral margin straight, paramere with base slightly wider than basiparamere apex; dorsal surface of basiparamere irregularly wide; genital ring with inclination angle of about 90º; aedeagal dorsal body with set of large and rounded warts on upper lateral surface, aedeagal ventral ramus almost as long as dorsal body, base much wider than median and apical regions, narrowing progressively apicad, inner lateral margin of apical region bulging.

Distribution. Thailand (Chiang Mai, Lampang, Loei, Sakon Nakhon, Phetchabun, Kamphaeng Phet, Chaiyaphum, Ubon Ratchathani, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Nakhon Nayok, Petchaburi, Chanthaburi, Prachuab, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat).
