Muona (1987, 1993) listed “ Haywardinia Cobos, 1964 ; not Aczél, 1952” under a belief that Haywardinia sensu Cobos (1964) is pre-occupied by Aczél (1952). Further research has indicated Aczél (1951) actually described the group Haywardina ( Insecta: Diptera : Tephritoidea: Tephritidae ) from South America. These two names differ only by a single letter. As a result, no further action to replace Haywardinia is needed, in which the eucnemid genus is still valid.
