Previous records: Pocock, 1890:515 [as Remipes scutellatus (Fabricius, 1793) ]; Coelho and Ramos, 1972:157; Fausto Filho, 1974:10 [as Hippa cubensis (Saussure, 1857) ]; Melo, 1999:300.

Examined material: NOV/91: Praia da Conceição, 2 males, 2 females (1 ovigerous); Praia Cacimba do Padre, 1 male (2 exuvias). MAR/92: Baía do Sueste, 1 male. AUG/92: Praia da Conceição, 2 females; Praia do Boldró, 1 male. AUG/93: Praia da Conceição, 1 female. JAN/2000: Praia do Leão: 1 specimen.

Habitat: found in the intertidal zone, upon and in the sand.

Observation: white carapace with yellow spots.
