Also reported from Rakhine State and Ayeyarwady Region by Kress et al. (2003: 77; as Eria pubescens ), but we have not seen material from these areas.

Distribution:— India, the Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Indochina, southern China and western Malesia.

Notes:— Seidenfaden (1982) accepted Eria albidotomentosa , E. lanata , E. laniceps and E. pubescens as distinct species. Later, E. albidotomentosa and E. pubescens were combined after morphometric studies. Eria lanata is only slightly different from the holotype of E. pubescens in its shortly clawed epichile, so we include it here. Pearce & Cribb (2002: 385) considered E. laniceps to be a dubious entity that they could not recognise after study of numerous specimens of E. lasiopetala . It too is included in the synonymy here.
