ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1847d: 349.

TYPE LOCALITY: Rondani gave no type locality in his original description but presumably it is Parma (Italy) because he referred to observations made by himself. He later ( Rondani 1875a: 263) added “ Parmae a me observata [observed in Parma by myself]”.

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, lectotype (missing head, genitalia on a slide in the same Box) ( MZUB: Box 337): 27 75 / Leucopis aphidivora Rond. , ex a. parmensi / aphidivora Rndn. , Parma / Lectotypus ♀ Leucopis (Leucopis) aphidivora Rondani , det. G. Morge, Ex. 1 / Hiervon Ovipositor [ovipositor of this specimen] Preparat. Nr. 1.

PARALECTOTYPES NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♀ (dissected) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / aphidivora Rnd. / 1812 / Syntypus Leucopis (Leucopis) aphidivora Rond. , det. G. CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Tanasijtshuk 1984: 225, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7, Raspi & Benelli 2016: 200).

REMARKS: Rondani (1847b: 349) described Leucopis aphidivora from more than one specimen without specifying the number , the sex or the length of the specimens. He redescribed this nominal species (1848a: 434) as “ aphidipora ”, not used by subsequent authors ( Becker 1905: 235, Morge 1962b: 436, Tanasijtshuk 1984: 225, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7, Raspi & Benelli 2016: 200). Therefore, the original spelling “ aphidivora ” is to be used and “ aphidipora ” is as an incorrect subsequent spelling. In the MZUF specimens of Leucopis aphidivora and Leucopis aphidiperda are both numbered “1812”. Morge (1962b: 436) designated a lectotype (♀) but did not mention an additional two specimens (one, just the pupa) in the MZUF (both of these additional specimens are paralectotypes).
