MATERIAL.

Mauritius island [Ins. Mauricia], 1 female (lectotype; present designation ­ in separate vial), 4 females, 1 male, leg. C. ALLUAUD, Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris ( 19040 ) .

DESCRIPTION.

Measurements (male/female). Carapace: length 4.1/3.5[mm], width 3.4/2.8, height 1.9/1.9. Ocular area: length 1.8/1.6, anterior width 2.4/2.1, posterior width 2.5/2.1. Abdomen: length 3.7/5.5, width 3.1/3.5.

Male. Large salticid. Carapace brown, rounded and convex, rather high. Eye field darker, occupies almost half of carapace length, vicinity of eyes almost black. Clypeus very low, covered with white hairs. Maxillae and labium yellow with brown bases. Sternum orange, scutiform. Chelicerae large, dark brown, promargin with two teeth, retromargin with triple tooth (Fig. 2). Abdomen (partially damaged) brown, spinnerets orange. Legs long and thin, orange­brownish, first pair longest (with very long tibiae). Leg hairs brown; spines long, brown. Pedipalp long, brown, clothed in long hairs. Cymbium long and narrow (Fig. 5). Single tibial apophysis straight and thin (Figs 3­5), bulbus oval, sperm duct course meandering, embolus long and almost straight (Figs 3­4).

Female. Dorsal aspect as in Fig. 1. Colouration of carapace like in male. Abdomen grey with median irregular yellow strip and longitudinal patches laterally. Venter yellowish. Epigyne rounded with large central depression partially separated with narrow ridge (Fig. 6). Initial parts of seminal ducts weakly sclerotized, spermathecae spherical (Figs 7­8).
