( Figs. 365, 375, 385, 395, 405, 415, 425, 435, 448)

Etymology

Dolichos (Greek) = long, phallus (Greek) = penis. This name is used as an adjective and refers to the elongate distiphallus of the male.

Diagnosis

Lysilinga dolichophalla is taxonomically associated with L. chamela , L. digita , and L. nigra in lacking setae on the katepisternum and in having the abdomen dark reddish brown. Lysilinga dolichophalla differs from L. chamela , L. digita and L. nigra in having the halter knob pale yellow to yellowish brown; in possessing dorsocentral macrosetae; the hypoproct large, coneshaped ( Fig. 365); and the distiphallus in lateral view (Fig. 435) with the subapical hood long, flattened laterally and expanded dorsoventrally.
