Megachile quadrispinosella Strand 1910: 526 View in CoL 527. Female. Type locality: Asuncion, Paraguay. From Strand’s observation that the species is similar to Megachile rhinoceros Friese 1908 View in CoL (= Megachile (Sayapis) mendozana Cockerell 1907 View in CoL ), a very distinctive species typical of Sayapis, M. quadrispinosella View in CoL is tentatively placed in this subgenus.
