Figures 12 View FIGURE 12 A-I

Material examined: Antilles: ZMA V.Pol. 7571B (1) Bonaire, Lac, Cas di Meenchi, 24.IX.1975; 0.8–1m.

Description: Complete, 230 segments, 34mm long, thorax 8mm long, 1.7mm wide ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ). Tentacular membrane well developed; eyespots absent. Tentacles missing. Upper lip rounded, laterally widened. Lower lip narrow, swollen ( Fig. 12B View FIGURE 12 ). Branchiae dichotomous, decreasing in length. Twelve ventral shields, first one widest, then markedly decreasing in size, last one reduced; ventral groove continues to posterior end. Nephridial papillae tubular, on segments 7–23, placed anteriorly, at base of each notopodia ( Fig. 12C View FIGURE 12 ). Twenty-seven pairs of notopodia; chaetae from first segment with notochaetae longer and decreasing in size; chaetae of two lengths ( Fig. 12D View FIGURE 12 ), longer notochaetae symmetrically bilimbate sub-distally, with distal region dentate, slightly oblique ( Fig. 12E View FIGURE 12 ); short chaetae sub-distally smooth and bilimbate, distally dentate region almost perpendicular ( Fig. 12F View FIGURE 12 ). Uncini from segments 5–10 ( Fig. 12G View FIGURE 12 ) MF:3–4:4–5:3:3, PP and PF absent, Oc almost straight; Cp with three series of teeth over a long MF; USr straight, SrP and SrA absent; LSr oblique; AP and AF absent; Bs convex. Uncini in double separated rows ( Fig. 12H View FIGURE 12 ) resembling anterior ones, but smaller. Pygidium smooth ( Fig. 12I View FIGURE 12 ).

Staining pattern: Only upper lip, first segment, and ventral shields stain slightly. The remaining structures remain pale.

Discussion: Neoleprea sp. 1 ., remains undescribed because its description requires better specimens. It differs from Neoleprea sp. A Kritzler, 1984 in terms of the lack of eyespots, having 27 segments with notochaetae, uncini MF:3–4:4–5:3:3, and nephridial papillae present on segments 7–23.

Distribution: Bonaire.
