Diagnosis. Mesoscutal midlobe and mesoscutellar disc areolate to areolate-reticulate. Axillula areolate. Petiole in females extending beyond hind coxal apex. This species is best recognized by its small size in combination with a long petiole and pale flagellum ( Figs 147, 149 View FIGURES 147–152 , 154 View FIGURES 153–154 ).

Orasema yaax differs in having a dark flagellum ( Fig. 263 View FIGURES 261–266 ), and subtly different mesoscutellar sculpture ( Fig. 264 View FIGURES 261–266 ). Orasema stramineipes differs in having an entirely yellow fore femur ( Fig. 207 View FIGURES 207–212 ).

Description. Female. Length 2.4–3.6 mm.

Color: Head and mesosoma green to blue green dorsally, with some purple areas laterally. Pedicel yellowish brown; anellus yellowish brown; flagellum yellowish brown. Coxae brown with metallic luster dorsally, becoming yellow apically; fore femur mostly yellowish-brown, tips pale; fore; mid femur mostly yellowish brown, yellow at tips; hind femur yellow. Fore wing hyaline; venation pale brown. Petiole blue-green; gaster brown with blue to purple luster.

Head: Head width:head height 1.1–1.2; face reticulate; longitudinal groove between eye and torulus absent; eyes bare, inter-ocular distance:eye height 1.5–1.7; malar space:eye height 0.7–0.8; supraclypeal area longer than broad, smooth medially and ventrally, weakly sculptured dorsally and laterally; clypeus smooth to weakly sculptured. Flagellum length:head height 1.6–1.7; F2 2.6–3.2× as long as broad, 1.0–1.3× as long as F3; following funiculars progressively shorter and broader.

Mesosoma: Mesosoma length:height 1.1–1.5. Mesoscutal midlobe areolate-reticulate, becoming areolate posteriorly, with minute setae; lateral lobe areolate-reticulate. Axilla areolate-reticulate; mesoscutellar disc areolate to areolate-reticulate; frenal line regularly foveate; frenum areolate; axillular groove anteriorly narrow, broad and foveate posteriorly; axillula areolate. Propodeum with irregular median carina; propodeal disc areolate; callus areolate-reticulate, with 3–5 setae. Mesepisternum reticulate to areolate-reticulate laterally, smooth ventrally, broadly rounded anterior to mid coxa. Upper mesepimeron mostly smooth, with some weakly reticulate areas; lower mesepimeron areolate-reticulate; transepimeral sulcus distinct. Metepisternum laterally areolate-reticulate. Hind coxa 2.0–2.6× as long as broad; hind femur 6.3–7.1× as long as broad. Fore wing 2.4–2.9× as long as broad, 2.9–3.3× as long as mesothorax; stigma with 4 sensilla separated into pairs. Hind wing costal cell with a broad bare area.

Metasoma: Petiole 2.9–4.0× as long as broad, 1.1–1.3× as long as hind coxa, areolate to areolate-reticulate, anterior carina moderate. Antecostal sulcus crossed by carinae; acrosternite posteriorly angulate.
