Orientafroinsularis matilei ( Boulard, 2000) View in CoL n. comb.

Chremistica matilei Boulard 2000: 259 View in CoL . (Surroundings of Ambatorangotina, mountain of Itrême, central Madagascar)

Remarks.—Another large species of the genus with a body length about 32–35 mm and a wingspan of about 85–90 mm ( Boulard 2000; specimens in hand). The body size can distinguish it from all other Madagascar species of the genus with only O. martini n. comb. being larger. Boulard (2000) describes the species as a darker form of C. martini with a large white pruinose “half belt” on dorsal abdominal tergite 1. The infuscation on the radial and radiomedial crossveins is connected through the basal apical cell veins producing a zig-zag pattern in this species. The song begins as a series of short syllables followed by a short decrease in intensity prior to a period of rapidly produced longer syllables with peak energy about 6 kHz ( Boulard 2000; 2006b).

Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar ( Sanborn 2013).
