Diagnosis. Adult (Figs 14, 15, 32–35). The species differs from its congeners by stronger bipectinate antennae of male, short palps of male with tiny 3rd segment, yellowish-brown colouration of forewing, more distinct wing pattern and details of male and female genitalia. Wingspan male 46–52 mm, female 55–59 mm. Palps of male relatively short, with 3rd segment about ¼ length of 2nd, covered with dense brown mixed with whitish scales, longer in frontal side; palps of female with 3rd segment longer than in male, about 1/3 length of 2nd. Antennae of male shortly bipectinate, ciliated, female antennae thinner than in male, strongly fasciculate, ciliated. Head and thorax covered with brown mixed with pale brown hair-like scales; tegulae and patagia bordered with pale-whitish. Ground colour of forewing yellowish-brown with suffusion of whitish or pale greyish scales; wing pattern typical for the genus, formed by pale whitish- brown dentate basal, subbasal and antemedial lines; subbasal and antemedial fields darker than background; medial field with wide diffused medial shadow; reniform as short vertical streak; subterminal line dentate, broken. Hindwing pale yellowish-brown or yellowish basally, with relatively narrow waved brown subterminal band and wide brown terminal field. Male genitalia. ( Fig. 45 View FIGURES 42 – 45 ) Uncus moderate, about half length of tegumen, curved and hooked apically; compared with other Ortopla species it is not curved and not extended basally; scaphium rather narrow, extended apically, but its apex is not bifurcated as in other species; valva somewhat longer than on other Ortopla , with parallel margins; aedeagus short and rather broad with vesica bearing basal and medial diverticula and medial patch of minute scobination. Female genitalia. ( Figs 52, 53 View FIGURES 46 – 53 ) Differs from other Ortopla species by wider ductus bursae, stronger bulla in joining of ductus and bursa and by pyriform shape of bursae.

Distribution. *Southwest China (Provinces Yunnan and Sichuan), North India ( Hindustan, West Bengal), Myanmar, Thailand (Provinces Chiang Mai and Kanchanabury), *North Vietnam (Provinces Lao Cai, and Tonkin), Malaysia, Borneo; Indonesia (Sumatra). The species occurs in secondary and primary forests at elevation 900– 2500 m. Flight period from February to November.
