Diagnosis. This species differs from the introduced O. flavipennis (Pic) in having the elytra primarily black with yellow markings. It differs from O. quadrimaculatus Lawrence in having the anterior pronotal angles slightly produced forward, the pronotal punctures much larger than those on the elytra, and the details of the yellow elytral markings, which includes a zig-zag marking at about the middle.

Description. With characters of the genus. Length = 2.40–2.80 (2.57 ± 0.15, n = 10) mm. Body elongate, more or less parallel-sided and slightly convex: BL/EW 2.17–2.33 (2.24); GD/EW = 0.71–0.76 (0.73). Colour of head and pronotum dark reddish-brown to black, sometimes with yellow band at anterior edge; scutellar shield and elytra dark brown to black with somewhat variable yellow maculae, usually a transversely zig-zag marking just before middle and a V-shaped marking near apex; ventral surfaces surfaces lighter, and somewhat variable, usually yellowish-brown to dark brown; legs reddish-brown; antennae relatively dark. Dorsal vestiture consisting of very short, erect, fine hairs, not or barely longer than the punctures from which they arise and barely visible at lower magnification. Longest eye diameter 0.21 times as great as head width. Frontoclypeal ridge more or less evenly truncate, slightly elevated over antennal insertions. Antennomere length ratio: 3.62: 2.13: 3.87: 2.75: 1.50: 1.38: 1.00: 2.37: 2.50: 4.25; length/width ratios: 1.53, 1.31, 3.88, 2.59, 1.26, 0.92, 0.61, 0.83, 0.80, 1.36. Apical maxillary palpomere 2.41 times as long as wide, widest near middle, slightly asymmetrical with narrowly rounded apex. Prementum 1.71 times as long as wide, slightly wider subapically, with distinct setose ligula; Labial palps separated by 0.50 times basal width of one; ratio of palpomere lengths 1.00: 3.33: 2.33, apical palpomere slightly narrower than preapical one, which is weakly inflated subapically. Female gula 0.52 times as long as head, with sparsely distributed micropores. Pronotum 0.75–0.83 (0.80) times as long as wide, widest anterior to middle, with moderately narrow lateral margins just visible for their entire lengths from above, with microcrenulate edges; anterior angles barely produced forward and rounded; posterior angles oblique; disc very coarsely and densely punctate, punctures usually 3 per mm, somewhat variable in shape and separated by less than a fourth of a diameter; interspaces smooth and shiny. Prosternum in front of coxae 1.50 times as long as mid length of coxal cavity, slightly convex; prosternal process 0.50 times as wide as mid length of coxal cavity, subtruncate at apex. Scutellar shield 0.10 times as wide as pronotum, slightly widened at base with broadly angulate apex. Elytra 1.43– 1.56 (1.51) times as long as wide and 1.94–2.30 (2.07) times as long as pronotum; punctation somewhat finer and sparser than that on pronotum; interspaces smooth to finely sculptured and shiny. Mesocoxal cavities separated by 0.21 times shortest diameter of one. Metaventrite slightly convex, with discrimen 0.42 times as long as ventrite; shortest distance between meso- and metacoxal cavities 1.52 times length of ventrite 1 at same point. First abdominal ventrite 1.50 times as long as 2 nd. Male unknown. Ovipositor (Fig. 88) 3.10 times as long as wide, widest near bases of coxites; sides subparallel, but slightly wider near base of coxites and narrowing towards apex; paraprocts 1.15 times as long as gonocoxites, longitudinally oriented; gonocoxites 1.43 times as long as their combined widths; proximal lobe slightly longer than wide and undivided distal lobe 1.86 times as long as proximal lobe, gradually narrowed to about middle and then more abruptly so to form a cylindrical extension, more heavily sclerotised and rounded at apex; gonostylus 0.17 times as long as distal lobe and 3.7 times as long as wide.

Biology. Collected by pyrethrum fogging hoop pine scrub.

Etymology. Derived from the Latin in, meaning not, and the Latin ordinatus (from the verb ordinare), meaning ordered or arranged, and referring to the unusual elytral markings.
