ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1865a: 140.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in montuosis Agri Brixiensis [Brescian mountains ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing right mid-leg, terminalia in a microvial pinned next to the specimen) ( MZUF: Box 7): Paragus Latr. / tacchettii Rnd. / = P. bicolor (Fabricius) , P. Goeldlin det. 1971 / 335.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Paragus bicolor ( Fabricius, 1794) View in CoL ( Peck 1988: 80, Belcari et al. 1995a: 10).

REMARKS: Rondani (1865a: 140) described Paragus tacchettii from just the male sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens, from material collected by C. Tacchetti. We found one syntype in this study.
