Synonyms in the area: Persa incolrata —Ramírez & Zamponi 1981 [incorrect subsequent spelling] [medusa]. Remarks: the distribution range provided by Ramírez & Zamponi (1981) is not based on specific records and, therefore, we did not consider that information for this species.

Distribution in South America: medusa—Atlantic Ocean, Brazil to Uruguay, from 29°S to 35°S (Thiel 1935; Navas-Pereira 1974, 1981; Migotto et al. 2002).
