Diagnosis. Arista apically with somewhat triangular, leaf-like expansion but neither dorsal nor ventral branches (“ Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ” in Chen et al. 2005b); all postgonites nearly straight in ventral view; posterior postgonite apically pointed, as long as anterior ones; 2 anterior postgonites on one lateral lobe nearly parallel (“ Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ” in Chen et al. 2005b).

Supplementary description (not repeating characters common to P. speculum ). Supracervical setae 14–16. Cibarial, medial sensilla approximately 8 per side; posterior sensilla 6–7 per side.

The antisymmetry is observed in the postgonites: in A-type, the left lateral lobe bears 2 anterior postgonites, and the right lobe 1 posterior and 1 anterior postgonites; but in B-type, vice versa (“ Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ” in Chen et al. 2005b).

Specimen examined. Thailand: 1♂ (B-type), Chang Khian Stream gully, Doi Suthep , Chiang Mai, ~ 1,100 m a.s.l., 13.ii.2009, H. Bänziger leg. ( SEHU) .

Distribution. China (Guangdong, Yunnan), Thailand *.

Remarks. This species resembles P. speculum within the foliiseta complex, in having the abdominal sternite III wider than long (ch.22-1), widest among sternites (ch.23-1), and with dense setulae on medial surface (ch.26-1), but can be distinguished from it by the diagnostic characters.
