TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: of P. tendens : Bavaria, on duckweed (Plantae: Lemnaceae ); of H. subglabra : unstated locality and habitat; of L. (P.) capillatus : near Castion di Strada, Udine, Italy, on rotten leaves in a marsh; of L. (L.) listrophorus : Norway, on unstated substrate.

NOTES: (a) Vitzthum (1931b: 72) considered Platyseius listrophorus (Berlese) a junior synonym of P. subglaber without comment, despite the fact that P. listrophorus was described only from the male; (b) Oudemans (1929c: 87) first considered that A. tendens was a senior synonym of P. subglaber .
