An introduced species established in Nova Scotia ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ). The specimen collected in 1915 in Middleton, Nova Scotia is noteworthy, since this would appear to be the earliest record of this species in North America. The earliest previous records are specimens from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada (9.iv.1923, F.S. Carr, (2), CNC) reported by Brown (1940). Found throughout Europe and North Africa. Feeds on dried stored products; occasionally found in warehouses and dwellings ( Bousquet 1990) .
