Sinotilla lambirensis Lelej, 1996: 98 , ♀. Type locality: “Miri, Lambir” (Sarawak, Malaysia). Holotype, ♀ [SKYC]; Lelej 2005: 55, ♀; Lo Cascio 2015: 557.

Diagnosis. FEMALE. This species can be separated from other species of group 2 by the following combination of characters: frons and vertex with weak and long carina medially, but without any grooves; scutellar scale narrow, as broad as diameter of nearby punctures, posteriorly turning into median longitudinal carina extending through propodeal face; T1 without apical band of setae; S1 yellowish red; T2 and S2 polished among punctures and strongly shining; S2–S3 each with apical narrow band of dense, appressed pale golden setae.

Head black; mandible reddish yellow except apex black; frons covered with black setae; vertex, gena, clypeus and mandible covered with pale golden setae. In dorsal view, outline of head obtrapezoidal with anterior margin not protruding, 1.5 times wider than long; lateral margins strongly convergent posteriorly behind eye; posterior margin truncate. In lateral view, head longitudinally elongated; frons flat; gena narrow in lateral view with GOI = 1.84. Eye protruding from frons. Mandible with two inner denticles. Scape and pedicel reddish yellow; flagellum black dorsally, reddish yellow ventrally; F1 tinged with reddish yellow; F10 conical with apex compressed but not concave. Palpi yellow ventrally, dark brown dorsally. Mesosoma entirely yellowish red; dorsal face covered with black setae; lateral and ventral face with pale golden setae; lateral margins subparallel. Legs reddish yellow except tarsi, apex of mid- and hind femora and tibiae reddish brown. Metasoma oval, black except S1 yellowish red, entirely covered with pale golden setae; T2, 4 and 5 also covered with black setae; minimum distance between drop-shaped, basal median spot and apical band of T2 twice the breadth of the spot; T2 with golden felt line laterally, lateral length of T2:length of felt line = 100:40; S2–S6 each with apical fringe of long pale golden setae; T2 broadly and shallowly depressed medially; S1 with median longitudinal carina. MALE. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype, ♀, Tower Region, Lambir National Park, Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia, 22.I.1993, Seiki Yamane leg. [SKYC].

Distribution. Malaysia: Sarawak.

Remarks. Lelej (1996) noted that this species may be the female of S. gribodoana ( Invrea, 1943) . This species resembles S. belokobylskiji and S. petina other than S. calopoda sp. nov. and S. ohbayashii sp. nov. in having the characters of group 2. However, it can be distinguished from S. petina by the pale golden setae on vertex (black in petina ), and having apical narrow band of setae on S2–S3 (lacking in petina ), and from S. belokobylskiji by narrow scutellar scale (wide in belokobylskiji ), the weak depression on T2 (strong in belokobylskiji ), and the smaller body size.
