SOESILADEEPAKIUS LYRA View in CoL SP. NOV. ( FIGS 1–15 View Figure 1–2 View Figure 3–4 View Figure 5–9 View Figure 10–15 , 47 View Figure 47–52 )

Type: Holotype: male from Reserva Florestal Adolpho Ducke , Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, coordinates -2.96, -59.93, 26.iii.-30.iv.2002, E.P. Fagundes, deposited in IBSP 120583 . Paratype: female, same data ( IBSP 120585 ) .

Etymology: The specific epithet, a Latin noun in apposition, refers to the shape of the long RTA ( Figs 10– 11 View Figure 10–15 ), which reminds one of the arms of a lyre.

Diagnosis: This species is very similar to S. retroversus sp. nov. in the shape of the long RTA, the short and stout embolus, and the absence of a RFA in the male palp, but can be distinguished from this species by having a thinner embolus and the distal tegular apophysis pointing ventrally (see Figs 10–11 View Figure 10–15 , 16–18 View Figure 16–18 ).

Description: Male ( IBSP 120583). Total length: 3.24. Carapace light brown, 1.51 long, 0.89 wide, 0.59 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.89 long. Anterior eye row 1.12 wide, posterior 1.00 wide. Clypeus densely covered with white long scales. Chelicera yellow. Endite, labium, and sternum yellow. Sternum with depressions on the borders at coxa II. Palp brown. Palpal femur dorsally covered by a fringe of long white scales ( Fig. 1 View Figure 1–2 ); ventrally with a longitudinal retrolateral keel ( Fig. 47 View Figure 47–52 ). Palpal tibia with a small ventral apophysis, a prolateral projection and a very long RTA reaching almost two thirds of the cymbium length ( Figs 10–11 View Figure 10–15 ). Cymbium with prolateral proximal projection. Tegulum with a posterior acute ending, slightly curved dorsally, a small prolateral proximal acute apophysis, a projection on the distal retrolateral border, and a blade-shaped median apophysis (?), curving to the tip of the palp ( Figs 10–11 View Figure 10–15 ); sperm duct with a wide loop before entering the embolus ( Figs 12–13 View Figure 10–15 ); embolus short and stout at distal, prolateral portion ( Fig. 10 View Figure 10–15 ). Leg formula 4123. Length of femur I: 0.98, II: 0.73, III: 0.78, IV: 1.00, patella + tibia I: 1.34, II: 0.92, III: 0.84, IV: 1.23, metatarsus + tarsus I: 0.95, II: 0.89, III: 0.89, IV: 1.23. Front leg spines very robust ( Fig. 9 View Figure 5–9 , tibia v2-2-2, metatarsus v2-2); other spines absent, except for femora (I d1di, II d0-1-0-1, III = I or II, IV = I), tibiae ( II = I, IV v2di), and metatarsi ( II = I, III d2di, IV r1). Leg I with tufts of white scales prolaterally on the distal femur and in the middle of the tibia ( Fig. 1 View Figure 1–2 ). Abdomen yellow, with three sparse, transverse dark brown stripes, the anterior two of which are interrupted medially, and a pair of long longitudinal stripes of white scales on the anterior half; posterior half with a pair of tufts of white scales and a middle one above the anal tubercle; dorsal scutum not covering the entire length of abdomen ( Figs 1 View Figure 1–2 , 3–4 View Figure 3–4 ). Spinnerets yellow, variegated with dark brown.

Female. Total length: 3.24. Carapace light brown, 1.51 long, 1.03 wide, 0.56 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.92 long. Anterior eye row 1.14 wide, posterior 1.00 wide. Clypeus glabrous. Chelicera as in male. Endite, labium, and sternum yellow. No depression on sternum. Palp yellow. Cymbium spines: r2, d1r-3. Leg formula 412 = 3. Length of femur I: 1.06, II: 0.78, III: 0.78, IV: 1.00, patella + tibia I: 1.37, II: 0.89, III: 0.84, IV: 1.17, metatarsus + tarsus I: 0.95, II: 0.89, III: 0.95, IV: 1.34. Front leg spines as in male; other spines as in male, except for femora I-IV d0-1-0-1. No tufts of white scales on legs. Abdomen yellow, dorsally with three transverse dark brown stripes separated by two transverse stripes of white scales ( Fig. 2 View Figure 1–2 ). Epigynum with anterior lateral openings, longitudinal copulatory ducts extending posteriorly, converging at the posterior border, where large spermathecae are located ( Figs 14–15 View Figure 10–15 ). Spinnerets as in male.

Material examined: Besides the type specimens, ten females with the same data as the types ( IBSP 120567–120569 , 120571–120576 , 120582 ); Brazil: Amazonas, Manaus, Fazenda Experimental da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, highway BR-174, km 38, coordinates -2.648833, -60.052611: five males and 18 females, E.P.
