Distribution: Southern NH to northern FL and LA to southern WI. Kentucky collections are from the northeastern quarter of the state (mostly from the Western Allegheny Plateau; Map 182).

Adult flower hosts: Aruncus , Castanea , Ceanothus , Cornus , Crataegus , Hydrangea , Nyssa , Prunus , Rhus , Robinia , Rubus , Spiraea, Sorbarta , Vaccinium , Viburnum ( Chemsak 2005) and Tragopogon and Sambucus nigra canadensis ( Lingafelter 2007)

Comments: A diurnal species most often collected from flowers.
