Diagnosis. Externally, T. falsinebulosa , sp. nov. resembles T. nebulosa , but can be easily distinguished by its darker wing coloration and the absence of longitudinal streaks in the subbasal and subterminal areas of forewing. Morphologically, Teuloma falsinebulosa also resembles T. oblitterans due to its dark brown forewing coloration, but differs clearly by its well developed and strongly angled transverse line, whereas in T. oblitterans that is less angled and diffuse. The male genitalia of T. falsinebulosa , sp. nov. differ from those of T. nebulosa by vinculum with rounded corners, more robust distal saccular process with its much larger twisted apical lobe, and vesica with more elongated medial diverticula. The female genitalia of T. falsinebulosa , sp. nov. differ clearly from those of T. nebulosa by the presence of an antevaginal plate, the presence of antrum being strongly broadened posteriorly and having an oblique margin, and smaller corpus bursae with only signum (in T. nebulosa , there are two signa).

Description. Forewing length 12–12.5 mm in males and 15 mm in females. Head with frons and vertex chocolate brown. Antennae bipectinate. Labial palpi porrect. Thorax with collar and tegula chocolate brown. Forewing with ground color chocolate brown; transverse line of dark fuscous scale, angled outward near lower angle of cell. Hindwing pale orange yellow. Abdomen with ground color yellow; underside same. Male genitalia with uncus long, robust, slightly curved, terminal spine present; tegumen longer than uncus, v-shaped; vinculum shorter than tegumen, sclerotised; saccus u-shaped; juxta inverted lamp shaped. Valva with costa slightly convex; a small central window transverse with an elongated flap; cucullus simple, flap-like, its tip blunt, containing hairs at apical region; sacculus narrow; apex of distal saccular process typical of genus. Aedeagus long and broad; vesica membranous with several diverticula of various size and shape and four areas of weak scobination.

Distribution. The species is widespread in India (found in Karnataka, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh).

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the close similarity of the new species to T. nebulosa .
