With the single axillary bristle 0.15 mm long. Haltere knob largely brown.

Recognition. In the keys to Palaearctic species ( Schmitz, 1943) it runs to couplets 66, lead 1 and couplets 67 and 68 but is immediately distinguished by its hypopygium.

Etymology. Named after Dr Thomas Pape, who has been very helpful to Esben Bøggild in learning how to deal with the identification of Phoridae , and for arranging loans to Henry Disney of type material from the important Lundbeck Collection.
