Remarks. Despite the wide distribution in Brazil , Paguristes calliopsis has very few records in collections and publications, and little is known regarding its biology ( Biagi et al. 2006 ). These factors indicate that further investigation on this species is required. In addition, small individuals are frequently misidentified as Paguristes tortugae , which is the phylogenetically closest species in the region ( Mantelatto et al. 2006 ).
