, vue de dessus, très triangulaire, moins large que le mésonotum, les yeux peu saillants; postclypéus proéminent, égalant le vertex en longueur; ce dernier plat, noir en son milieu et sur les côtés, un double trait noir courant médio­dorsalement de la plage ocellaire jusqu’à l’arrière du pronotum. Ocelles petits et relativement écartés entre eux, les latéropostérieurs nettement plus près l’un de l’autre que chacun de l’oeil correspondant (d1/d2 = 1,76); ocelle médian occupant une position subdorsale. Arcades antennaires ourlées de noir; antennes ocre­vert. Face clypéale verte, fortement bombée, le sillon médian obsolète, et striée de 6 paires de bourrelets transversaux; joues, lames buccales et antéclypéus verts, plus ou moins envahis de cire blanche; rostre moyennement long, son apex noirâtre, rejoignant le niveau de l'articulation des fémurs postérieurs.

: hyalines et immaculées. Homélytres assez élancés (leur longueur comprenant près de 3 fois leur largeur), l’aire ulnaire une fois et demie plus importante que l’aire apicale; cellule basale en trapèze allongé, diaphane; cellule radiale plus longue que la cellule postcostale, cette dernière très étroite et quasi virtuelle; les huit cellules apicales relativement courtes, un brun diffus occupant leur centre; nervule r plus oblique que la r­m; limbus étroit. Ailes postérieures parfaitement transparentes, moitié moins longues que les antérieures, à six cellules terminales au développement ordinaire.

: quasi cylindrique, nettement plus long que l’avant­corps, ocre­vert, hormis les deux derniers segments plus sombres; un trait sagittal noir ou bistre sur les trois premiers urites, des macules obsolètes sur les latérotergites. Sternites cireux, le premier bistre, les suivants ocre, les derniers noirs; première paire de tubercules légèrement plus forte que la seconde. Cymbacalyptes développés en plaques non bombées, vertes, fermant dorsalement les chambres acoustiques, mais ne rejoignant pas, latéralement, les opercules, laissant voir ainsi les cymbales sur les côtés. Leurs rostres perpendiculairement fichés dans l’humus et les jets d’urine jaunâtre qu’environ toutes les 10 s les Cigales éliminaient (

Une telle pratique nutritionnelle, pour surprenante qu’elle soit s’agissant d’insectes normalement et très majoritairement opotrophes (suceurs de sève ou de suc cellulaire végétal), n’est cependant pas nouvelle. Nous avons montré que d’autres espèces, asiennes elles aussi, sont capables de prendre des aliments sur du sable humide ou autres sols riches en matières organiques (
