Record as epibiont on other hosts: This species was also found as epibiont on alga Polysiphonia violacea (Roth) Sprengel, 1827 , on polychaetes Trophonia plumosa (Müller, 1771) and Stylarioides plumosa (O.F. Müller, 1776) , and on pantopod Pallene brevirostris Johnston, 1837 in the Kiel Bay (the North Sea) ( Precht 1935 ). The species was also found on alga Enteromorpha flexuosa (Wulfen) J. Agardh, 1883 in Tamiahua Lagoon, Veracruz , Mexico ( Aladro-Lubel et al . 2006 ). In addition, the species was registered in the Baltic Sea ( Mironova et al . 2009 ). Recently, the species was found on the green filamentous algae Cladophora sivashensis Meyer, 1922 in the Sivash Bay (the Sea of Azov) ( Sergeeva et al . 2020 ).
