Identification.
Head scaled, except for cheek. Mouth su- perior. Longitudinal series of scales 40–42. Body col- oration of live males brown, sides of body bluish, from humeral region to caudal peduncle, with a lateral irregular series of red spots. Dorsal and anal fins with red spots on basal half, distal half yellow with thin dark pur- ple band on distal margin. Caudal fin dark purple along procurrent rays, distal portion yellow and white. Pectoral and pelvic fins yellowish. Body coloration of live fe- males brown, with scattered dark blotches along sides. Dorsal and anal fins with dark spots. Pelvic and pectoral
fins hyaline. A dark spot on upper portion of caudal pe- duncle (
