Apterous; body length 2.5–3.0 mm. Head testaceous-reddish; antenna brown, except scape, pedicel and part of flagellomere 1 yellow, flagellomeres 7–8 and partly 6 whitish; pronotum brown-reddish; mesoscutum yellow, except anterior margin brown; rest of mesosoma black, except distal extremity of propodeal declivity reddish; petiole black; metasoma brown-reddish; legs testaceous. In very dark specimen from Mozambique , Cuamba, head with large black band on vertex; antenna black, except scape and pedicel testaceous and flagellomere 8 whitish; propleuron brown; pronotum black; legs testaceous, except femora darkened. In specimen from Madagascar , antenna brown, except scape and pedicel testaceous and flagellomere 8 whitish. Head ( Fig. 239B ) excavated, shiny, unsculptured; temple prominent. POL = 4; OL = 4; OOL = 15. Palpal formula 5/2. Pronotum shiny, setose, unsculptured, crossed by strong transverse impression. Mesoscutum shiny, with some longitudinal keels. Metanotum, mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate. Metapectal-propodeal disc shiny, unsculptured; propodeal declivity transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture obsolete. Protarsomere 1 slightly shorter than 4 (10:11). Enlarged claw ( Fig. 235D ) with one small subapical tooth and one row of seven peg-like setae. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 235D ) with inner side proximally not serrate, with one row of 15–19 lamellae; apex with at least 12 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1. . Fully winged; body length 1.1–1.9 mm . Head black, except mandible testaceous; antenna brown; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs brown, except tarsi, protibia and stalk of profemur testaceous. Antenna setose, filiform; antennomeres of specimen from Mozambique , Cuamba, in following proportions: 4:4:5:4:4.5:4.5:4:4.5:4:6.5; antennomeres of specimen from South Africa , Blue Mountain Ranch Bed & Breakfast, in following proportions: 5:4: 5:5:4.5:4.5:4.5:4:4:6. Antennomere 3 less than 3 × as long as broad: 5: 1.7 in specimen from Mozambique , Cuamba; 5: 2.3 in specimen from South Africa , Blue Mountain Ranch Bed & Breakfast. Head dull, granulate; frontal line absent; occipital carina absent; in specimen from Mozambique , Cuamba, POL = 5; OL = 2; OOL = 4; in specimen from South Africa , Blue Mountain Ranch Bed & Breakfast, POL = 5; OL = 3; OOL = 4. Vertex of head with two oval smooth and shiny areas situated between lateral ocelli and eyes (areas anteriorly and posteriorly surrounded by carina, anterior carina being much higher. Temple distinct, crossed by sharp carina parallel to posterior margin of eyes. Palpal formula 4/2. Mesoscutum dull, granulate; notauli complete, posteriorly separated. In specimen from Mozambique , Cuamba, minimum distance between notauli less than 0.5 × as long as greatest breadth of lateral ocelli (0.5:1.5). In specimen from South Africa , Blue Mountain Ranch Bed & Breakfast, minimum distance between notauli shorter than greatest breadth of lateral ocelli (1.5:2.0). Mesoscutellum shiny, weakly granulate. Metanotum shiny, unsculptured. Metapectal-propodeal disc dull, completely reticulate rugose; areolae of metapectal-propodeal disc small; propodeal declivity without longitudinal or transverse keels. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands, with only costal cell surrounded by well pigmented veins (other basal cells surrounded by obsolete veins); 2R1 cell open; 2r-rs&Rs vein regularly curved, with distal part longer than proximal part (approximately 9:7).
