Aedeagus, ventral view; 2G. Abdominal ventrite VIII; 2H. Gonocoxae; 2I. Spermatheca. Description. Length 6.8–8.3 mm , width 2.5–2.9 mm . General color ( Figs 1 A–1C) reddish brown; antennomeres III–VIII black, IX–XI white or pale yellow; elytra metallic purple or blue. Antennae filiform in males, but antennomeres VI slightly broader apically, VII and VIII strongly swollen, ventral surface of VI smooth without setae ( Fig. 2A ), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.3: 0.9: 1.0: 1.1: 1.0: 1.1: 1.2: 1.2: 1.1: 1.3, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 2.7: 1.1: 3.0: 3.5: 3.0: 2.5: 2.5: 2.8: 3.7: 3.5: 4.9; filiform in females ( Fig. 2B ), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.3: 0.8: 0.9: 0.9: 0.8: 0.9: 0.9: 0.9: 0.8: 1.0, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 3.3: 1.5: 3.1: 3.6: 3.5: 2.8: 3.2: 3.3: 3.6: 3.5: 4.1. Elytra elongate and parallel-sided, 2.0x longer than wide; disc with dense, coarse punctures, arranged into longitudinal rows, with one weak longitudinal ridge between two longitudinal rows of punctures, basally abbreviated. Tarsomeres I of front legs swollen in males. Aedeagus ( Figs 2 D–2F) slender, 6.6x longer than wide; apex lanceolate, with median, deep, wide notch, from apex to apical 1/4; sides widest at apical 1/4, gradually narrowed towards basal 1/4; tectum well sclerotized, abruptly narrowed near apex, apex narrowly rounded; straight in lateral view, slightly curved near base; triangular sclerites small; internal sac with one median, elongate sclerite, apex acute, basally connected with laterally flattened sclerite, covered with stout setae. Gonocoxae ( Fig. 2H ) elongate, widest at apical 1/7, both gonocoxae combined together from basal 1/5 to apical 1/10; apices narrowly rounded, each gonocoxa with eight setae along outer margin from apex to apical 1/7; with one pair of short lateral processes at basal 2/5. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 2G ) elongate and well sclerotized; disc with several long setae laterally and near apical margin, and with dense, short setae along apical margin; spiculum extremely slender. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 2I ) strongly swollen; pump slender and strongly curved; proximal spermathecal duct deeply inserted into receptacle, narrow and short. Variation. Some males have strongly modified antennomeres VII and VIII ( Fig. 2C ). Antennomeres VII are strongly produced apicolaterally, while VIII are strongly produced basolaterally. Diagnosis. Members of this new species are similar to those of T. impressa in color pattern but differ from those of T. impressa in possessing modified antennomeres VII and VIII in males (modified antennomeres VI and VII in males of T. impressa ) and reduced longitudinal ridges on the elytra (distinct longitudinal ridges on the elytra in T. impressa ). In addition, it is also similar to T. longicollis in the modified antennomeres VII and VIII in males and reduced laterally flattened sclerites of the internal sac but differs from males of T. longicollis in having reddish brown bodies (brown or blackish brown bodies in T. longicollis ), antennomeres VIII without basolateral processes in males (presence of basolateral process in males of T. longicollis ). Etymology. The new species is dedicated to Mr. Yi-Ting Chung, who is a member of the Taiwan Chrysomelid Research Team (TCRT) for his contribution to the diversity of leaf beetles. Distribution. Indonesia ( Riau Islands , Sumatra ), Malaysia ( Johor , Pahang : Tioman Island). The distribution in West Malaysia is scattered and only two localities are recorded.
