Type species: Rhodacarellus subterraneus Willmann, 1935 , by original designation. Diagnosis (adult female) . Species of Rhodacarellus are characterised by the arthrodial process of chelicera shaped as a coronet-like fringe; podonotal shield mostly smooth, with j1 , j2 and z1 along anterior margin, without a transverse line between j 4 and j 5 and with four scleronoduli near j5 ; presternal shields absent; and basitarsus IV with three setae ( pl 4 absent).
