The specimen collected in 1915 in Middleton , Nova Scotia is noteworthy, since this would appear to be the earliest record of this species in North America. The earliest previous records are specimens from Medicine Hat , Alberta , Canada ( 9.iv.1923 , F.S. Carr , (2), CNC ) reported by Brown (1940). Found throughout Europe and North Africa. Feeds on dried stored products; occasionally found in warehouses and dwellings ( Bousquet 1990 ) .
