Brasilocaenis irmleri
is related to the group of South American
Caeninae
with apically pointed forceps. It is easily distinguished from all
Brasilocaenis
species
by the very long styliger plate with posterior margin rounded and forceps enlarged near base and narrow toward the apex, and fused to lateral margins of styliger plate (adapted from
Puthz 1975
).
