This taxon was recently described in moist rocky outcrops at the highest elevation in Indochina - Phan Xi Pang Mt. - in the somewhat unique formation of a

). The species is characterized by blue oil bodies and noticeably large underleaves (only slightly smaller than the leaves) divided by a U-shaped sinus descending to 2/5-1/2 of underleaf length. The species may be expected in other areas of mountainous Indochina, if not spread more widely to the eastern Sino-Himalaya. The description and illustrations were published very recently, and it seems that no more information should be added here.
