Atyeo (in: McClure and Ratanaworabhan 1973 ) reported 16 undetermined and presumably new species of this genus from Asia. To date, only one species of the genus Dolichodectes has been described from birds of the genus Copsychus : Dolichodectes furcilobus Mironov, Literák , Hung and Čapek, 2012 from the White-rumped Shama, Copsychus malabaricus (Scopoli) ( Passeriformes : Muscicapidae ) in Vietnam ( Mironov et al. 2012 ). Of the nine species of the genus, three species were identified from birds of the family Muscicapidae , two species from birds of the family Acrocephalidae , and one from birds of the families Platysteiridae , Turdidae , Stenostiridae and Passeridae . Dolichodectes latilobus is the fourth species described from birds of the family Muscicapidae .
