Description.
MALE. Body length
2.7 mm
. LFW
1.98 mm
. Maximum wing width
0.91 mm
. Color. Head and mesosoma black; metasoma dark castaneous with castaneous spots.
Head.
Mandible with three apical teeth. Clypeus with median lobe tridentate; median tooth angulate or nearly so; median carina complete apically or nearly so, straight in profile or nearly so. Ratio of first four antennal segments about 5:3:3:3. Frons strongly coriaceous, punctures large. LH 1.02 × WH, WF 0.65 × WH, WF 1.39 × HE, OOL 2 × WOT, DAO 0.63 × WOT, posterior ocelli distant from vertex crest 1 × DAO, frontal angle of ocellar triangle acute, VOL 0.74 × HE. Vertex crest straight. Occipital carina not visible in dorsal view.
Mesosoma
. Pronotal disc strongly coriaceous, anterior margin carinate. Notauli deep, complete, evenly narrow, converging posterad. Propodeal disc 0.6 × as long as wide; basal triangle rugulose, posterolateral area scrobiculate; median carina posteriorly incomplete; lateral margins straight, diverging posterad; posterior carina well-defined, convex. Lateral of propodeum mostly imbricate. Propodeal declivity mostly rugulose.
Metasoma
. Tergal process with very shallow, circular and sublateral pair of depressions; depressions 0.071 × as long as tergite II, parallel, distant each other 5.67 × maximum transverse diameter, with setae very short and laterad on anterior area, without pair of tubercles, with posterad tuft of setae (
Figs 76–78
). Hypopygium with median stalk 0.91 × as long as hypopygeal plate; median stalk wide; corner of anterior margin angular; lateral stalk of hypopygium 0.05 × as long as median stalk; posterior margin weakly concave; corner rounded (
Fig. 120
).
Genitalia
(
Figs 207–209
). Genital ring produced, each half convex in dorsal view. Basiparamere with dorsal surface rectangular, much narrower than ventral surface. Paramere with basal area wider than basiparamere apex; apex angulate; apical margin sinuous in ventral view, not curved. Basivolsella setose, with severalthick and short setae. Cuspis biramous. Aedeagus 2 × as long as wide; dorsal body of aedeagus wider medially, narrowing abruptly apicad, lateral margin strongly convex medially, converging apicad, not curved dorsad, apex with one pair of outer lobe; base of dorsal body of aedeagus strongly sclerotized, triangular, with median region truncate; ventral ramus of aedeagus surpassing half length of dorsal body, reaching base of apical lobe of dorsal body, lateral margin of ventral ramus sinuous, much wider medially and base as narrow as apex. Apodeme extending beyond genital ring.
FEMALE unknown.

Variations.
Body length between 1.90 and
3.65 mm
; LFW between 1.67 and
2.58 mm
; maximum wing width between 0.72 and
1.03 mm
; propodeal declivity with brilliant median band; posterior carina of propodeal disc with narrow median angulation or two paramedian concavities.
Remarks.
Dissomphalus barbus
sp. nov.
is similar to
D. magnetus
sp. nov.
and
D. thaianus
because of the following characteristics: basiparamere and paramere narrow in dorsal view, aedeagal dorsal body wide and aedeagal ventral ramus wider medially. However,
D. barbus
sp. nov.
differs as follows: basiparamere with very wide ventral surface that hides aedeagal ventral ramus; dorsal body strongly inclined dorsad; aedeagal ventral ramus longer than half length of dorsal body, reaching base of apical lobe of dorsal body, apical region angulate, base extending beyond genital ring.
Distribution.
