Chrysanthemum corymbiferum
Linnaeus
,
Amoenitates Academicae
4
: 491. 1759
,
orth. var.
["Habitat in Thuringia, Bohemia, Helvetia, Sibiria."] Sp. Pl. 2: 890 (1753). RCN: 6439.
Lectotype
(Humphries in Jarvis & Turland in
Taxon
47: 358. 1998): Herb. Linn. No. 1012.13 (
LINN
)
.
Current name:
Tanacetum corymbosum
(L.) Sch. Bip. var.
corymbosum
(
Asteraceae
).
Note:
Although published in the
Amoen. Acad
, reprint of the thesis
Flora Monspeliensis
, this name is evidently an orthographic variant of
C. corymbosum
L. (1753)
, as noted by Stearn (in Geck & Pressler,
Festschr. Claus Nissen
: 632. 1974). In
Sp. Pl.
, ed. 2, 2: 1251 (1763), Linnaeus again used the epithet
"corymbiferum"
, but in conjunction with the same diagnosis and synonyms associated with
C. corymbosum
in 1753. In
Syst. Nat.
, ed. 12, 2: 562 (1767), he again used the same diagnosis, but reverted to the use of
"corymbosum"
.
