Type locality: China, Sichuan Province, Northern part of Baoxing County, Ruobigou .
Type material. Holotype male, CHINA: Sichuan Province: Northern part of Baoxing County, Ruobigou , altitude 1600 m, roadside haystack, 10.VIII.2003, coll. Xiaodong Yu ( IZ-CAS) . Paratypes: CHINA: Sichuan Province: 1 male, Northern part of Baoxing County, Ruobigou, roadside haystack, 13.VIII.2003, coll. Xiaodong Yu ( IZ-CAS) ; 1 male, 2 females, same data as holotype ( IZ-CAS) .
Measurements. BL: 4.4–5.0 mm; FL: 2.2–2.7 mm. HL: 0.75 mm; HW: 0.74 mm; PL: 0.73 mm; PW: 0.63 mm; EL: 0.59 mm; EW: 0.62 mm; ELL: 0.17 mm; POL: 0.37 mm.
Description. Body ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ) elongate, reddish brown, elytra and abdomen somewhat darker; legs and antennae yellowish brown.
Head ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 , 5A View FIGURE 5 ) nearly square, approximately as long as wide; punctation in middle of head moderately dense and coarse, umbilicate punctures weakly distinct in middle of head and partly confluent on vertex, distance between punctures smaller than diameters of punctures; umbilicate punctures present vaguely on posterior half of head; interstices without microsculpture; eyes small and slightly protruding, postocular portion about 2.18 times as long as eye length.
Pronotum ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ) oval, elongated, without distinct anterior and posterior angles, with anterior half slightly wider, 1.16 times as long as wide, slightly smaller than head, 0.97 times as long and 0.85 times as broad as head; punctation not umbilicate, less coarse and slightly denser than that on dorsal surface of head; longitudinal midline posteriorly with very short and narrowly elevated impunctate band; interstices without microsculpture. Dense punctured depression near posterior middle margin.
Elytra ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ) 0.95 times as long as wide, slightly smaller than pronotum, 0.81 times as long and 0.98 times as wide as pronotum; lateral sides expanded posteriorly with widest at posterior 1/3; hind wings completely reduced; punctation finer and denser than that of pronotum; interstices without microsculpture.
Abdomen covered with dense and slightly coarse punctures on tergite III, less dense and coarse on tergites IV–VI, sparse and fine on tergites VII–VIII; interstices without microsculpture.
Male. Sternite VII ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ) with posterior margin truncate in the middle. Sternite VIII ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ) with triangular medioapical emargination. Aedeagus ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 D–5F) well sclerotized; ventral process short, ventrally with a blunt tapered median keel; dorso-lateral apophyses short, obviously dilated apically in basal half and curved inward in ventral view, not reaching apex of ventral process.
Distribution and habitat data. The species is known only from Baoxing County, in central Sichuan Province. The specimen was collected by sifting deciduous leaves at an altitude of 1600 m.
Comparative notes. According to the external characteristics and the special morphology of the aedeagus, Nazeris baoxingensis sp. nov. belongs to the N. schuelkei group (Assing 2013). The new species is similar to N. latibasalis ( Assing 2016: 312, figs. 23–27) of this group in aedeagal characteristics, but can be separated from N. latibasalis by the wider dorso-lateral apophyses.
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Chinese name (Pinyin) of the type locality, Baoxing County, which is also a very famous site as the type locality of many other zoological species.
