Remarks: Dendrobaena annectens was first described as a variety of ganglbaueri until Pop (1949) synonymized both with D. byblica . Zicsi & Pop (1984) examining extensive material from the Southern Carpathians and a syntype housed in Michaelsen’s Collection (Hamburg) recognized that the male pores of this species are shifted backward to the beginning of the clitellum, therefore they removed it from the synonymy of D. byblica and placed it in Fiztingeria. However, Fitzingeria has proven to be polyphyletic. Therefore, we here place all previous Fitzingeria species including annectens in Dendrobaena .
