Biology. Floodplains, salty marshes. Adults occur in V–VIII. In roots of Juncaceae ( Arnoldi 1965) .

Notes. Probably misidentification by Nowicki (1858: 16; 1864: 38; 1865: 38) and some other authors of lists from central and north regions. Mazur & Kuśka (1994) pointed out that it is widespread in NW Ukraine, however, examination of the bulk material suggests these data refer to widely distributed S. striatopunctatus rather than S. abbreviatus .
