Material examined. One male (CL 1.33 mm, TL 3.72 mm), April 18, 2016, Los Morros (23°27’N, 109°25’W), Cabo Pulmo National Park, Southern Baja California, Mexico, about 5 m deep (ICML-EMU-13274

Remarks. Metam ysidopsis W.M. Tattersall, 1951, is a small genus containing nine species (one with two subspecies) ( Mees & Meland 2012 onwards). Two of these have been currently reported for the eastern Pacific: M. elongata elongata (Holmes, 1900) and M. pacifica (Zimmer, 1918) . Hendrickx & Hernández-Payán (2023) suggest that the two subspecies of elongata , M. e. elongata and M. e. atlantica Băcescu, 1968, reported in shallow waters on both sides of the American continent, should be lifted from subspecies to species based on clear geographic separation and morphological differences summarized by Băcescu (1969). The same authors ( Hendrickx & Hernández-Payán 2023) described a new species of Metamysidopsis also collected during the present survey, Metamysidopsis frankfiersi , currently know only from the southern Gulf of California, Mexico.
