TYPE DEPOSITORY: Biological Laboratory, Matsuyama Shinonome Junior College, Matsuyama, Japan; accession number MSJC-BL 107.

TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: Mount Omogo, Ehime, Japan, on unstated substrate.

NOTE: upon an examination of two paratypes of this species (on a slide labelled “A 111”), it was noticed that, differently from what was shown in the original description, the delimiting lateral lines of the deutosternum were not present, the number of teeth of each row of denticles was larger than shown in the illustration, and a distinctly elongate and arched seta (that could be considered as a macroseta) was present on the palp tarsus. In addition, although not completely distinct in any of the paratypes, the distal end of the peritreme seems to be arched backwards. Taking into account these observations and the additional characteristics given in the original description, we maintain this species in Iphidozercon , despite the insertion of j1 at the edge of the dorsal shield, making it visible from a dorsal view.
