T ype material. H ol ot ype, mature whole-mounted specimen, Changjiang R iver, engdu county (29ss58¾N, 107ss41¾E), Sichuan Province; southern bank of the river,

brown soil with wood litter and humus under Ficus lacor , 12 October 1997, coll.. Xie, J. Wang and R. Q. Liu. Par at ypes, ve whole-mounted specimens from type locality and date .

Other material. Ten specimens from type locality, 25 August 1999, coll. Z. Xie and J. Wang.

Etymology. From the Latin sinicus 5Chinese.

Description. Body length: 2–3 mm (in vivo), 1.1–1.5 mm (xed specimens). Width:

m m at III, 80–85 m m at V, 85 m m at XII (xed specimens). Segments 17–21. Epidermal glands pale, few, in two or three transverse rows per segment. Chaetal formula 1,2,(3)-2 5 2,3-2,3. Lateral chaetae: one per bundle in IX–XI or X–XI, two elsewhere, rarely three in III (two specimens); ventral chaetae: three per bundle in –VIII or II–IX, two in remaining preclitellar segments, two or three in postclitellar segments; all missing in XII in mature specimens.
