Type locality: Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture.

Type material: Not stated, possibly, Hokkaido Imperial University. Hutchings and Turvey (1984) state type material destroyed in WWII.

Location and author of most recently described material: 1) Taiwan ( Radashevsky & Hsieh 2000); no Australian material examined 2) Sato-Okoshi (2000); no Australian material examined.

Recorded distribution: Australia: New South Wales, Victoria. Japan; New Zealand; USA: California; Taiwan; North-western Spain; eastern Mediterranean Sea.
