Location and author of most recently described material: associated with Haliotis midae , Western Cape Province, South Africa ( Simon et al. 2010); reference made to Petch (1995) and Blake and Kudenov (1978). Recorded distribution: Australia: Victoria (Werribee), south-western Western Australia. USA: southern California; Canada; South Africa; Japan; Hawaii; New Zealand; Spain.
