Location and author of most recently described material: New material: Gulf of Naples, Italy; Recently discovered old material: ZMUC POL- 653 Mer de la Manche, France ( Radashevsky & Petersen 2005); comments included on basis of description in Blake and Kudenov (1978).

Recorded distribution: Australia: New South Wales, Victoria, south-western Western Australia. La Manche, France; Gulf of Naples, Italy; Cap de Creus, Mediterranean Spain; Lundy Island, Great Britain; California;; Chile; Ecuador; New Zealand (Otago and Wellington).
